zambelli's breathtaking photography

I decided to choose this picture because I personally thought it
is a church that not only represents the likes of Richmond as a community but also the fact that it lies at the heart of Richmond itself. St Ignatius Church
was designed by English born architect William Wardell who had already
made a name for himself in England and was also responsible for many of
Melbourne's most important early buildings including St Patrick's Cathedral.
Like St Patrick's it is in the Gothic Revival style and constructed from local blue stone. The foundation stone was laid in 1867 and since then has been the number one church in
Richmond in which people still today enjoy preaching and having functions at
such as weddings and communions.
