Michael is a psychoanalyst. When I heard this I wondered how much of my psyche I had exposed in conversation!
One evening Michael told this story:
England had become enamored of haloween. This year there was an abundance of pumpkin planted and the harvest looked promising, but the English would not pick the pumpkin at a price the farmers would pay. Soooo, foreign laborers came in from Eastern Europe to pick the pumpkins.
But the English would have none of that. There was a great protest that foreign laborers had come to England to rob the workers of their jobs. The pumpkins went unharvested for the most part.
