Meet JillyBean. She looks big in this picture but actually only weighs about 2 1/2 lbs.
The vet said she is between 3 and 4 months old. She has been staying at the clinic for about 7 weeks. I first saw her when I took my little tuxedo kitten, Bumper VanStowaway, in for his first set of shots. She was so tiny and sleeping peacefully on a pillow behind the counter. When I took Bumper V.S. back to be fixed, she was still there. My husband absolutely did not want another kitten so I did what most wives would do, I borrowed her from the vet for a half hour so he could fall in love with her. It worked :) So I took her back since I had only borrowed her and picked her up later that afternoon when I picked up Bumper.

Husband is smitten with the new kitten
It worked pretty good too, he loves to hold her and play with her. She is a riot to watch and a bundle of pure love, but I worry she is going to hurt herself. I think I might look into having a crash helmet made for her out of foam. Something that will protect her head when she falls into the wall or book case.

She was playing pretty good with the toy until she lost her balance and fell over. She just gets right back up and continues to play.

Rare Moment
It is not that easy taking her picture. Just when you think you have her right where you want her...she falls. She tends to keep her feet spread a little further apart for better balance. I have read and am told she will learn to aclimate more to her disability and hopefully will have better balance.

The second day home.
JillyBean is quite settled in her new home. She has taken up residence on my husbands chest who doesn't seem to mind at all, in fact he encourages her to cuddle with him. He wants to take her to bed with us, but I am afraid she will stumble off the side of the bed and hurt herself. She also has not gotten formerly introduced to the 3 other resident kitties. I think I am taking Ahmagotcha in for soft paws today before I let them interact. I would feel much better knowing Ahmree can't claw JillyBean.

The Reveal
Well, by accident my 5 month old kitten Bumper and JillyBean met. I did not know Bumper was in the room until I heard a sneeze and saw the cone. Bumper just got fixed so he is still wearing the cone. Here they are for their first picture together.

Working on a plan
Ok, I am sketching out a plan in my head. This is the newly redone side of our house. The wall is the back bedroom which we use as an office. My mission (if my husband chooses to accepts it) is to build a cat enclosure complete with a kitty door coming off the office and a ramp, gradual slope of course netted off on the sides so JillyBean can get down without falling off the edge. It will have play toys, fake trees, kitty grass, hammocks and anything else a pampered kitty might want. It would be totally enclosed so nothing can get in and no one can get out. Of course I would have a door on it so I can go in to play with the babies. I am hoping this is something my husband and I can agree on. So far he agrees but we might have a disagreement over the size.
Update: We went to the Kitten Rescue of Mason County last night which I might add is totally amazing. They have outdoor enclosures and we are closer to making my plan a reality.

Dinner Time
JillyBean does quite well eating. She only tipped her bowl over a couple of times, ok maybe 3 or 4 times. I have to keep the other cats from eating all her food. Even though it is the same food, Science Diet Kitten food, the other cats keep eating out of her bowl instead of theirs in the kitchen. Bumper is the worst, he eats his bowl then Missy and Ahmagotcha's food then comes and eats JillyBeans food. I cannot believe how big he is getting. He is now bigger than Ahmagotcha but is about 4 months younger. He is gonna be a BIG boy. I doubt that Jilly is going to get very big at all.

I feel bad because I made my husband sit there while little Jilly climbed up his leg just so I could get these photos. What you can't see is the screams he was letting out as she clawed her way up his leg. :)

JillyBean aka JigglyBean does this kind of cute thing where she will stop dead in her tracks, look around and flop over sideways. This is how she ends up and she will lay like that for a while until she is ready to get back up. It's pretty comical actually. I often think that if she could talk, her favorite saying would be "I meant to do that"

Please tell me it isn't bath day again?
For the past month, the cats have been getting baths. Mostly to get rid of fleas but also because my daughter Kim has moved back to Washington and has severe allergies to cats. JillyBean is the 2nd hardest of our cats to bath. Today, she got a bath by my husband because she is his favorite.

So I got me this little girl name Isabella. She loves me and I love her. She is my Moms granddaughter and she calms me down when I get outta control. They call her the Cat Whisperer. My people think Isabella should be a Veterinarian but she thinks that is someone that doesn't eat meat. I will have to train her better.

Fast forward 1 year.
Today is my birthday. Not the day I was born, but the day I came to live with my new family. This is my 1 year photo taken 2 days ago. Life is so precious, don't take a day of it for granted. That's my 1 year feline advise.

JillyBeans new toy is the dresser. She rolls over on her back and scoots herself along the dresser. Not sure what she is doing or why but it is pretty distracting when your trying to go to sleep. Oh yeah, did I mention she is meowing the entire time she is doing this? Gotta love this little sweetheart.

My mom bought me this nifty harness so I can go outside.
Little JillyBean was a little scared on her first venture outside. She didn't really walk on the leash but she got to experience the grass and the fresh air.

Meet my friend.
He doesn't have a name but he has the same condition that I have. My mom got a phone call from a local shelter that wanted to know if she would take him in. And if you know my mom, she was so excited she forgot to find out which shelter it was so after an hour she finally got the right shelter and picked him up. She won't let me play with him yet but I'm hoping I get a chance before he finds his furever home. We are just his foster family and he will be looking for his very own family after he has all his vet care done.

Outdoors at last!!
My mom and dad finally decided on how to make the outdoors safe for my brother, sister and me. This is the enclosure they ordered online and have started putting together. My dad asked my mom if they can finish it this weekend. It's suppose to be hot outside and I love laying in the sun so I hope they get it done. I'm sure my mom will take lots of photos of me and my siblings in our new outdoor home.

A friend flew in from NY for a visit!
Here is my friend Tuti. She flew in from NY after Hurricane Sandy so she could find a home here in the Pacific Northwest. She didn't wobble as much as I do but she is still diagnosed with Cerebellar Hypoplasia. She did find a great home with a very nice couple. I miss her but it is great not to have to share my outdoor TV spot with her.
