Oregon State Fair Sculpture

GK Machine owners Keith Grossen and Gary Grossen stand in front of the 50'3"-foot tower built by the company at the Oregon State Fairgrounds.
Creating a piece of public sculpture was change of pace for the 35-year-old company, which usually makes hydraulic equipment for the agriculture industry. Workers from GK Machine of Donald erect one of three pieces of a metal sculpture at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. Officials hope the structure will become an iconic symbol of the state fair. Made of recycled scrap metal, the yet-unnamed art is a replica of a piece that stood on the fairgrounds in the 1960s.
