At the end of my holiday this summer I spend 3 days at Kolmården Zoo. Enjoying myself by photographing animals.
I haven´t had a long lens in a year, since I sold my Sigma 70-300mm that was slow and noisy ( but very sharp in good light!).
Couldn´t decide what lens to buy.
Then the new version of the Nikon 80-400mm turned up this spring. I planned to buy it for Christmas, but couldn´t wait that long ;o)
I´d read somewhere that it worked fine with the Nikon teleconverter TC 1.4, there was one for sale on the Swedish Nikon-forum, so I got it too. Before I bought the lens...
Smallest aperture with the teleconverter is f/8.0, but the AF works and I got a whole lot of sharp pics , so I´m quite happy with my new toy.
And the weight is just 1,6 kg´s so I can handle it. Specially now when I go to the gym three times/week to get the strength back after all handsurgeries!
