There might be sharper lenses for closeup/macros. But for these concertpics the 105 mm f/2.8 VR is just the best! I don´t use VR in the macros, read somewhere that the shifting of the lenses can cause unsharpness in the pics...

I have heard / read MANY NEGATIVE comments about the sharpness of the Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 VR lens. But after seeing the SHARP, CLEAR pictures that you have taken, what more could one want? Image Stabilization? Yep, its got Image Stabilization! They're NICE and SHARP! Thank you for sharing them with us!
