Great Landscape!

A good example for the great effect that can be achieved when photographing a sun filled landscape with dark clouds in the background. Phantastic image!!!

Great landscape. I like the bright light of this cloudy day. Well done.

Very atmospheric and well captured blu. The road/path leads the eye very well into the middle distance and onto the background hills and sky. I llike the vibrancy from the sun reaching the fore/mid-ground to contrast with the shaded hills and threatening clouds in the distance. If this was me, I might have cropped the bottom off more to have the path start in the very corner rather than a bit higher where you have it. I might also have croped tighter at the right to balance the main elements a little more to my way of thinking. All of that would resituate the main clump of trees away from dead centre to be more to the right and down in the cropped result to balance other elements like the bridge and sky a bit more. That said, the bridge height is well placed a third of the way up the image to complement the skyline above it where the top of the hill is also a third of the way down from the top. The whole thing still feels good to look at. Cheers, John

the colors, the blurry silhouettes. all makes it look like a painting, not a photo - love these kinda images!

definitely has a lot of atmosphere. it appears to be highly edited in terms of color hues. i wonder what the original looks like...

Landscapes are really challenging to pull on the heartstrings. The emotive power of the clouds are almost being subordiant to the lush greenery in this shot.I'd also like to see this shot in B&W.People in land shots definitely are a bonus when the moment is right.I find that sky either makes or breaks an image.I think the intimate landscape is a worthy approach, too. You pull the viewer's interest in with a foreground story.Excellent shots in this gallery!

This makes me want to hop on a plane right now. I've managed to get a few shots over the years that seemed to pop up just as I arrived. Luck or destiny, the results are captured forever.

thanks dominique: no, no special filter. I only used a Skylight 1A. I was just very lucky with the late afternoon light.

Right place at the right moment.

This is a terrific landscape shot. Did you use any filter to get such a contrast in the picture ?

Such a wonderful landscape shot. All the elements are there and your composition is right on the mark IMO. You were lucky to get such a wonderful sky to contrast against the green of the fields. Excellent work on this one. Well done.

Beautiful composition; the contrast between the stark and ominous skies and the vivid lush foreground is spectacular.

Beautiful shot, the reeds in the foreground and vivid green compliments the dark greys in the background. Atmosphere is the right word!

This is definitly an exceptionnal picture: the place, the weather (the matter is to be there the right time), skillfullness in shooting and processing. Take care. Marc
