Pied Flycatchers and Great Tits compete for nest boxes. Every year we find Pied Flycatchers killed by Great Tits in our study area, so far we found 13 killed in a nest box this year. This male reacts on a Great tit approaching his box by wing flapping, calling and diving/pecking.

Tjonge, dat gaat met veel geweld dus! 13 doden. Ik wist niet die koolmezen zo te keer gingen. Hopelijk vergaat het deze assertieve vliegenvanger beter. Mooie foto van zijn imponeergedrag! V groet, Bert
