Wonderful how her eyes are shaded as if by an ironic and impossible hand of hers. Maybe a kindly stranger stood and kept her from being blinded.. her face is so gentle.. I think that's what I like most about this statue.. is that she seems so gentle.
Excellent take on her
Like this take of the now 'familiar' image. The close crop/framing gives it a sense of intimacy. 'Fatherly', I think. Not looming over in a foreboding manner, but a protective one. V.
