Gallarus Oratory, located in the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry,
is the best remaining example of an unusual form of architecture--the beehive--
that was used during the 6th-8th centuries in Western Ireland.
It's a carefully crafted drystrone structure without any mortar.
It remains watertight, for which we're thankful, since it was raining when we visited.
