Hi Tony,

Congratulation that you have bought D5200. Is there any problem with this camera ? Is there any dust problem same as that of D600 ?

Hi,Tony.
Your photos are very good!I spent about two hours enjoying your fine macro and birds photography.I liked the color and detail and I really learned that f8 and above is essential for getting good detail and sufficient dept of field.Could you please share what lens and(close-up)add-on lens set are you using...Keep up your passion.Hope to see more and even better shots soon in your gallery
Guest 06-Aug-2011 20:35
I have only just discovered your gallery by accident but your images are really fantastic. I would be proud to have taken just one of them! The macro work, in particular, shows amazing detail. Superb work,Tony! :>))

Hi Tony,
What ad-on lens for macro do you use (insects close up pics).Type and brand and cost. I'm a beginner, and just bought the S200FS at a good price in Singapore.
Thanks and Regards

Hi

Thanks for gorgeous picture taken with Nikon D90. I am only wondering what lense have you used to shot such pictures?. Every one is labeled Nikon D90 at 210 mm. I am curious cause I am going to buy some lenses for macro and still have not decided which one is the best.

Best Regards
Marcin

Tony, Thanks for your earlier e-mail appreciating your landscape photography using FZ50.

I have had a good look at your close-ups of plants and insects for which you used fujifilm s100fs digital camera. These are great photographs but I can clearly see that the resolution, colour rendition and colour saturation of landscape photographs using FZ50 are much better than those using s100fs, to the extent, that one soon gets tired of looking at the photographs taken with s100fs than those taken by using FZ50. There is something in FZ50 photographs that is very nice , soothing and pleasant not in those using s100fs and I think these are the attributes of the particular Leica lens used in FZ50. Don't you have the same inner feelings as me on this point ?

It seems however that portrait photographs taken by using FZ50 are of poor quality- it seems you have not done much work on Portrait photography using FZ50. Is there any particular reason for it - poor quality ? Should highly appreciate your feedback. If I want a large print of any of your Scandinavian landscape photographs how do I get it ?

Thanks.

Very best wishes.

Tony, perhaps you could tell me which is the best resolution digital camera in the market today which can capture digital images of far off forests and building structures ( landscape etc. ) with great clarity. Which lens make is the best for this purpose? I have looked at your Scandinavian scenic pictures time and time again -they are a source of great joy and pleasure. Are you a professional photographer or is it a pass- time hobby ?. Whatever it is, it is great.

Best wishes and kind regards.

Hi Jack, regarding manula focusing, sorry, I had the hard time too...and finally I gave up. All the insects and close-up shots were taken with the ad-on macro lenses.

Regarding flash, any auto/manual flash with 1 contact point can do.
Jack Yeh 06-Jun-2008 01:02
Hi, Tony,

I just got the S100FS. So far I like it a lot. However, I am having a hard time in manual focusing. How do you get those wonderful close-up shots on the insects? Are you using any special filter or lens? Also, what external flash would you recommend? Thank you very much.

Jack

HI Tony,
love your pictures, and am really liking the fuji F100fs, however I would like to see the power of the zoom on some of your pics and maybe a sunset or two and what your opinion is on the noise of this camera versus the panasonic FZ50.
I am considering to buy the fuji, so your personal opinions of this camera would be appreciated, what are the negatives and positives if I were to buy. I am not a professional but I want to move into a more manual type camera that can do everything as I learn more and develop my skills. if you can email me your reply.
Thanks for sharing your great pics
Tammy

(Sorry about this. Let's do it right with a name.) I think your pictures at the botanical garden are excellent. I don't know why there has been so much negativity about the Fuji F100fs. It seems to me that you really enjoy this camera. To what size would you be able to enlarge the photos from the botanical garden without a loss of detail? I mean really a picture at: F5.3, 1/80", ISO400, 400mm handheld. I guess it just makes you wonder about some people who are never satisfied.

It depends on what adaptor tube you use. I used a 55mm diameter tube so I can use b-300
without any step-up or step-down ring.
Phil Flood 13-Jul-2005 16:22
Great shots!

I'm thinking of upgrading from an Olympus C2100 to the FZ20 and would like to use my B-300 lens which has a 55mm diameter. I cannot find info on the lens diameter of the FZ 20.
I would appreciate it if you would let me know.
Thanks

Dear Bogdan, No, all the europe pictures are not post-processed.

In admitted the FZ10 is a very very nice dc but...I must tell you
the FZ20 is even better particularly the resolution and focus speed.

You should buy the FZ20.

Best Regards and good luck.
Bogdan 08-Oct-2004 17:46
I looked at your galleries and I must say that many of your pictures are superb. Did you use any post processing or filters (especially on Europe gallery). I was in doubt if buying or not the Panasonic FZ20, but after what I've seen that FZ10 can do I decided to buy it.
Good luck ang keep shooting !
Tony Wong10-Jan-2004 15:52

Richard, Yes, there are quite a lot indeed, in my own view :

1. Noise - iso more than 100 is noisy.
2. CA - focal length from 380 - 420 does exist a lot of CA's.
3. Weak flash intensity - iso 50 is mostly useless if object is 7-8 feet away.
4. Metering is not at all accurate. Compensation is always required to correct
the wrong metering (always overly exposed).
5. The images is a bit soft.

In any event, I CAN live with the above weak points.

Regards,
tony

Hi Tony,

Does the DMC-FZ10 camera has any weak point. Is it able to capture acurate color under most conditions?

Thanks
Richard

Hi Ryan, I bought it in my place, hongkong.

I think it's abit expensive since I need to pay
hk$140 for these 2 pics because I was a bit hurry
by that moment...
Ryan Roy 16-Dec-2003 19:57
Hello,
I have seen your gallery.
Would you mind telling me how much the 72-67mm and 67-55mm rings are?
I plan to buy FZ-10 also.
Thank You!
