Chironomid

Lake Martin, La

After not seeing any birds to point my camera at, I resorted
to mosquitoes which were abundant.

Corrected - I thought this was a mosquito, but turns out it is a Chironomid. Thanks, Bob B.
for the correction.

Chironomid, closely related to mosquitoes, but don't bite. Can be VERY abundant. Nice macro.
