June '06 - ICF Baraboo Wisconsin

In June 2006 we traveled to Baraboo, Wisconsin, to visit the International Crane Foundation (ICF). As Cynthia has recently become a Board Member of the "Indian Cranes and Wetlands Working Group" (ICWWG) subgroup of the ICF, we had been invited to come visit while the head of the ICWWG, Gopi Sundar, and his wife Swati were in town. It was a wonderful visit, and we LOVED seeing the cranes -- all 15 species are there, in captive breeding programs (many of the species are endangered). Please visit the ICF website, and the ICWWG website (under construction) to learn more about how you can help save wetlands and these amazing, gorgeous, majestic birds. In particular, the ICWWG has inaugurated a new fund in honor of Kalpana Chawla, to support her legacy and her desire to help improve the environment and wild birds.
