The inside (Upper floor) is completely open like a courtyard with beautiful mosaic inlays around the inside wall. The downstairs (we didn't go into) is less ornate and is the burial chamber. To us it was more impressive from the outside. It is quite lovely. We were also impressed with Red Fort which is about 1 mile away on the river.
