Peyto Lake/Bow Summit II

Banff National Park, Canada

Taken at sunrise, this is about 30 minutes (40 km) north of Lake Louise on the Ice Fields Parkway. Bow Summit is 2088 m (6849') above sea level, near treeline. The brilliant turquoise Peyto Lake, in July and August, is an astonishing array of alpine flowers.

The beauty of this image has me convinced it is a painting - a place so beautiful it can't possible exist in reality. This is just such a fantastic shot, it almost brings tears. Wow!

Thanks for this one - it's a real treat!

Best,
Mike

Just gorgeous! I went to the place twice but both times the access to Peyto Lake view point was closed.

I like the mountain range receding into the distance and the reflections are wonderful. You certainly have some beautiful country where you live.
