Ross had just landed this nice Chinook when the Fish & Wildlife showed up and decided to remove the fishes beak. There was a small wire that had been inserted into the snout of the fish when it was a small smolt at the hatchery. This wire has ID numbers that will help in research regarding the age, strain and health of the fish.
