Primary Colours

Although we may be taught from an early age to regard the primary colours as red blue and yellow (which in itself is incorrect; the actual colours are magenta, cyan and yellow), these are only the subtractive primary colours with regard to reflected light, such as with paints. The primary colours of emitted light (additive primaries) as used by televisions, videos, computer screens, digital cameras and last but not least the human eye, are red green and blue, RGB for short.
