This Texas Wildflower - Celestial Nemastylis - blooms in March, April, and May. Each flower only lasts one day, but the blue and purple blooms are small and beautiful.
I hate to inform you but this is not Nemastylis geminiflora (Celestial Lily or Prairie Pleatleaf)...This is an image of a Sisyrinchium species (commonly called Prairie Blue-Eyed Grass) and from the looks it is probably S. langloisii or S. campestre. It is hard to tell without seeing the whole plant, plus there are quite a few species of Sisyrinchium...I must say the image is indeed a very nice one.
