The Jarrell Plantation is now a Historical Georgia State Park located in the Central Part of the State. The Jarrell family settled in Jones, County, Georgia in 1820. For the next 150 years they drew sustenance and sometimes prosperity, from the begrudging land.

The visit was part of an outing of the Peachtree City Photo Club. Near the plantation was the town of Julitte, Ga on the Ocmulgee River, and home of the famous "Whistle Stop Cafe" from the Southern movie "Fried Green Tomatoes"
