December 2017, I photographed our Sea & Sage Audubon Society's Pollinators' Garden at the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Orange County, CA. Most of the one-year old garden died in March 2017 from excessive El Nino flooding. We put in a French drain to help move off excess water and replanted some CA natives even though late spring wasn't the best time to plant. The older plants are growing and flowering, and most of the new plants are thriving. We will continue to replant in January and hope for just the right amount of rain! Come visit us at the 300 acre freshwater wetland; entry and parking are free; open daily during daylight hours.
