Oh just a delight! Thanks for sharing, Trude. The resting site could be an oil painting!! Brandt's Cormorants building nest offers at least four topics for storytelling. And pregnant sea lion alone on beach would make any mother say, "I remember feeling that way!"

Spent the night in La Jolla on Martin Luther King's Day to photograph the Brown Pelicans changing to alternate (breeding) plumage. Too early for Harbor Seal pups, but some Sea Lions already had pups. Surprised to see the huge number of corormants resting on the cliffs, and the Brandt's Cormorants were NESTING! Have to go back to get better photos of their nests and chicks!
