Belding's Savannah Sparrow is an endangered species that is resident at Bolsa Chica.
The best time to see this small endangered bird is in late winter and early spring
when males establish their breeding territory.
Look and listen for males sitting on top of vegetation
and flying over the pickleweed.
By-the-way, they eat insects and seeds, NOT clams!
