We attended a Full Moon Hike at Rancho Sonado to view the burned and unburned areas
We hiked the switchback trail . . .
. . . to witness regrowth of recently burned shrubs
They will re-grow into Laurel Sumac and other coastal sage plants
We listened to Inside the Outdoors staff
Telling trailside tales of local legends and lore
At the pond we heard common yellowthroat and red-winged blackbirds
Warned about poison oak which is now turning red
At dusk, we hiked back
Where a campfire and s'mores awaited
By flickering fire
