Early summer trip to Crystal Cove State Beach
Surprise: Turkish Rugging in bloom
Not just one or two, but lots of this rare plant
Turkish Rugging spread across the bluff!
Whiptail
Jeruselem Cricket (scared a woman near the restrooms!)
Female California Quail crosses road
Followed by the male quail (it rhymes!)
Swallows everywhere like this Cliff Swallow eating flying insects
From the clouds in the sky
To the waves rolling in and out
The path leads us from the sea to the bluff
With so much development in southern California, these coastal bluffs are a real treat
The ocean gives perspective on the life of a person

Trude, your photos are always a lovely gift to me. I can't wait to find some Turkish Rugging for myself. It's beautiful!
Hugs, C
