Great saga. I bet they some back next year.

Taking advantage of being on the continent to go to Romania for a quick birding trip at the end of August. Might see a black woodpecker!

how lucky for you. I've had hopes for our nest box for the last 2-3 years, but Cooper's Hawks nested in a nearby tree the last 2 years so I have taken the box down. At least they won't be tempted by a nice bluebird family so near.

I love your bluebird saga. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Please keep us informed about how long the bluebird family sticks around. Do they migrate elsewhere for the winter or are they residents? Those birds appear to WANT to make contact with you which is not the usual behavior for birds. Of course, they know a good thing when they see it! -Nancy
