In preparation for Mother's Day, the first of five American Avocet nests have hatched at the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Southern California where I work. If you come visit, please observe all trail signs and stay off the slopes and mudflats. This protects the habitat, the avian family, and you. Thank you for your cooperation. Enjoy the view! Trude
