This is only my third Bald Eagle sighting. The first was an adult at great distance at Lake Mathews in Riverside County over twelve years ago. At first glance I thought it was a trash can overflowing with a white plastic bag. I was so sorry to insult that bird with such a mistaken identity! Two years ago in fading light, I photographed an adult pair in a nest at Lake Henshaw in San Diego. This juvenile is my closest sighting, and it blessed me with a take-off flight past me. Thank you, she said with gratitude.
