- 18th April 2005 - Evening Swan Song

Normally choice is said to be positive. You're in control, you manage
your own destiny. But on pbase choice is the devil himself, tearing
and ripping at the mind.... OK maybe I'm overdoing it, but even my
trusty advisers couldn't help tonight.

A horrible day yielded nothing. So I stopped in Sandy Lane car park
by the River Dee (on the way from training band to main band,
just a mile or so up from the city centre, and snapped
this shot of a friendly swan. Then the landing stage caught my eye, and
so I've been sitting here for quite a while now trying to decide which to
post - knowing that whatever I'll be wrong! But I liked the light on the swan.

Here's the landing stage...

And here's Tony the training band coordinator arriving at St Lukes :)

and the church's dedication plate...

Apparently I've won Ric Yates guess the object competition PaD, which means I get to set one so that's the task for tomorrow...... :) Watch this space.

Perfect choice, Ian. Love the rays of the sun on the horizon, the ripples in the water, the swan quietly standing by the water, watching its mate ... all add up to a great image! :)

This is a great shot. The sunlight hitting the swan in the foreground is fabulous.

Very nice shot; the swan in the foreground looks almost porcelain. A nice evening...

They're all three lovely, but the swans win, with me. Hmmm....gee, we'd all like to have such a tough choice to make, I'm thinking! :-p
