- 19th March 2005 - Can you fly?

No inspiration evident during the day today. Did cut the lawn though. So as the day came to
an end went for a walk down Plemstall Lane towards the church, with Helen pacing me by bike!

Thought I'd got nothing really but when I looked at the piccies I was quite pleased
and have put them in their own gallery :) Plemstall.... Will reorganise soon!

Got a song thrush singing and some moon and sun shots. The grave stones at the church make
interesting and often sad reading. It's amazing what's around your locality when you look!

But I couldn't resist going for this snacking squirrel.... he was cool until the flash went off!!
Wondered - if they can fly then I can count it as a 'bird' shot :)

Cute shot. He knows he's safe where he is and is saying, "Nyah, nyah, can't catch me." :)

Great capture here. I love how he seems to estimate how far the runway is here and I love the idea that he might run and jump to the next branch. Great shot. Vote shot infact.

Looks like this one might need a longer runway. And I'm betting you'd step back if he suddenly launched.
Great gallery.

Not as cute as the native red squirrels they are displacing. Still. A nice shot - shame it was with a camera !

They are quite cute, but once he finds the bird food, will eat the birds out of house and home !
David Clunas19-Mar-2005 21:10
Cute little fellow, just wait until he finds your bird food!

Nice shot Ian. I've never managed to photograph the one that comes in our garden - it watches me set up the camera but as soon as my finger goes to the shutter it's off like a rocket.
Ric Yates19-Mar-2005 20:24
Don't think they can fly, they must be too heavy given the number of nuts they eat!
Guest 19-Mar-2005 20:20
Plump looking fellow.
Nice shot, every time I point a lens at one around here they are gone like a rocket.

Your Plemstall gallery is marvelous, Ian. He looks quite relaxed at this point doesn't he.
Guest 19-Mar-2005 20:09
Nice pose there Ian!
