- 6th Feb 2005 - Over the years

always find other peoples bookshelves fascinating.
Sorting the study today - get a new job campaign headquarters!
Odd selection on this shelf. Sort of accumulated over
the years for various reasons.

Of course I had a good browse through Calvin and Hobbs!
Hitchhikers Guide seems the most 'used' :)

Also came across 2 friends I won at 10 pin bowling a couple
of years ago. Didn't have time to sort.... you'll see them again.
Wanted to cone out the brown edge but have just moved to full PS
from Elements and couldn't find the clone tool!!!

Now off to see if I can get anywhere near the apead required
in our test piece (5 weeks to go)....

Nikon Coolpix 8800
1/60s f/3.2 at 15.0mm iso50 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

mmmm, bookshelves. Can't quite remember my favourite quote from the Guide - you know; "if there's anything running around out there with an ego bigger than mine, I want it caught and shot immediately." ...

I love your image! My bookcases look very different ... I have 4 large bookcases (4 ft across by 7 ft tall) and 4 small ones scattered through the house ... double-stacked in places. Oh yes, I am a librarian in the real world, and have four avid readers at home. You can never have enough books ...

I think looking at other people's bookshelves is so satisfyingly voyeuristic....someone once told me I had 'emotional intelligence' (she'd read the book) but I must say, I never got motivated enough to find out what she meant. I spot the Frances Frith - we have several of those.....Ascot (where DM lived when we met), Camberley - just to see if there was EVER anything interesting there and Cornwall, which is excellent. Never done a book case shot but I did this!

I find the books people hang on to very interesting. Lots of business stuff here. :)

First thing I do when walking into a friends house is to check out the reading materials-it can tell a personality in a quick glance :)

I hate to admit it but I rarely read books, I prefer pictures !

Always fun to nose along someone's bookshelves.

Interesting selection, there's a few that wouldn't look out of place on my shelves. Did you learn to fly?

utterly confused???

I'm also facinated by people's bookselves - you can tell so much about people by the books they have. I like the shot.

Did you ever learn how to fly?

I don't see The Beano annual anywhere there.

I've just started re-reading The Hitch-hiker's Guide - the complete trilogy in four parts!
