Fort Sumter & Charleston, South Carolina

The photos in this gallery were taken at Fort Sumter and Magnolia Cemetery (crew of the CSS Hunley are buried there) in July of 2002. Fort Sumter is on an island in the middle of a river. To get there requires a short boat trip, which proved to be quite enjoyable. As we docked, I was able to buy a sweetgrass basket from the artist herself, which was a beautiful end to the journey.
