I went out into the woods and picked some delicious wild leeks to put in the mashed potato topping of a Cottage Pie I made. (I had tried them in soup a few days earlier and lived to tell the tale, so knew they were safe to feed to others!) I hosted a Cooking Club evening for my singles group, and set a theme of “British Food”. Many of my friends had to be persuaded to try and make something typically British, and I was so pleased that they went outside their comfort zones as we had some delicious results.
We had wonderful Hot Cross Buns made by Anita, scrumptious Trifle by Frieda, melt in the mouth Shortbread by Vera and a delicious Queen Cake by Carol amongst other things. Some items were eaten before they had a chance to have their photo taken, so this is just a sampling of the delicious foods we ate!! :)
