I took Julia out to dinner this evening to celebrate her 21st birthday and we shared a bottle of Asti, the first time she had been able to have a drink with me in USA. It seems a long time to wait as in Germany she could buy herself a drink at 16, and drink at home legally too, England at 18 - we moved here from Germany when she was 15 and a half so she missed out for quite a few years before she was again able to have a glass of wine with her parents with her meal. Also in the photo are Julia's boyfriend Amir, my son Harry and his girlfriend Kristie - maybe one of these years I will also have a 'significant other' in a group photo.... :(
