Leona is born in 1948 in Kitutu in Congo. She came to Belgium when she was 24 and worked for the department of tourism where she met her husband, a Belgian born in China.
In 1976 they went to Tanzania and afterwards they lived in Zimbabwe for 10 years until 1992. Leona then came back to Belgium and lives in Sint Joris Weert with her two dogs and a cat. She has a wonderful house, filled with art from Africa, China and Belgium. The house is also filled with books and objects from around the world. She has so many stories to tell and truly is a vibrant, warm woman from the heart of Africa:)
