At the end of the Chinese part of the Silk Road lies the town of Kashgar, its name reverberating throughout history. I spent about a week in this lovely town, mainly in the Uygur part to be honest, which is still largely preserved and not yet tainted by the Chinese mania of razing old quarters in order to build modern cities.
