The most expressive of the portraits here, this image works because of the environmental context. The only distractions are the irrelevant cardboard box at the bottom and the blue post coming out of her head. The box can be cropped out and the much of the post could be cropped out. The pattern on the wall echoes the hills of pottery around her. The colors are wonderful, and her body language is dignified.
