forward torpedo hatch

The large torpedo you see on the right side of the image is a mark 18 electric torpedo. it is more than 18 feet long, 21 inches in diameter, weighs approximately 3,000 pounds, and has a speed of 30 mph
there are quite a few bunks hanging in this forward torpedo room, because of its isolation and relativly cooler than the main berthing compartment which is between the noisy mess hall and the hot engine room.
