Post Card Views of Indian Springs State Park, Flovilla, GA

My love affair with Indian Springs goes back to childhood and hot Summer days spent playing on the rocks of Sandy Creek, and family reunions and picnics held in the park pavilions. Indian Springs is one of the oldest state parks in the U.S. The 'Casino Lounge', bathhouses, spring house, stone walls and walkways were built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the 1920's and 1930's. It's only in the last year that I've discovered the history of Indian Springs as a resort and spa destination in the late 1800's through early 1920's, with hotels like The Calumet, Foy's, Elder Hotel (finally destroyed by fire in the 1980's), and the majestic Wigwam, located on the bluff above the spring. A fascinating history, often tragic, and one I never expected to find. These are postcard views I've found, and obviously do not own the copyright to them.
