Salisbury Cathedral hosted a temporary exhibition of sculpture by English artist Sean Henry, ‘Conflux – A Union of the Sacred and the Anonymous’, in 2011.
The exhibition, curated by Jacquiline Creswell, was extremely successful with over 40,000 visitors in August alone.
Nineteen polychrome sculptures were located both inside and outside of the Cathedral in a manner which encourages the viewer to contemplate the surroundings from a new perspective.
It was the largest collection of polychrome sculptures on display at Salisbury Cathedral since the Reformation.
