I dusted off my new Canon 100mm macro lens and drove all of 2 miles to Longwood Gardens yesterday.
It is high time that I begin to learn how to use this silly lens.
I hand-held the camera for all images because I did not think that tripods were permitted at Longwood. Much to my surprise, tripods are allowed, so next time..... :^)

Love this gallery. Great macro images. Voted. Love Cousin It. I like to go to Longwood also as I live in Bucks County and it isn't too far, comparatively speaking. Remember that tripods are usually allowed until noon indoors if you get the pass from the information desk. I think that tripods are allowed outdoors all day as long as you don't cause any traffic jams with them on the pathways.

Some promising starters there Steph... I would suggest looking for a strong subject and isolating it in a wash of abstraction. I learned everything I know from this guy:http://www.naturescapes.net/bios/mbrown.htm in my opinion one of the best floral macro guys in the world.. keep at it...
