Thanks to Lynn for the following info about the origin of the word Bugscuffle:
"Bugscuffle comes from an infestation of boll weevils that killed most of Texas's cotton crop a hundred years ago."
Originally known as Bear Hill. In 1879, the name was changed to Newport-a word formed from combining the first letters of the surnames of seven leading residents. And the street is pronounced Bug Scuffle. That at a fairly common name throughout Texas, Bugscuffle Ranch, Bugscuffle Inn, Bugscuffle Oilfield, etc. This is a wonderful photo. I love the simpleness and negative space. V
