I thought this might be an immature Green Heron; however, my fellow Pbasers have corrected me. Thank you!
I'm thinking this is a Glossy Ibis

it's a glossy...the lower shot is definitive....you're getting good use out of that 400...nice a crisp...I especially like the lower shot....V

It's a juvenile ibis - that's for sure, but it's unclear whether it's a glossy or white faced ibis. Distribution would favor a glossy ibis, but there are a lot more wanderers these days. Aren't mysteries fun...

Not a green heron, for me the shape of the head and the eye is very similar to an Ibis one
