Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene brought much rain and wind to the Delaware Valley on August 27 & 28, 2011. Wilmington, DE received 7.94" of rain over the past 24 - 36 hours. The Philadelphia area has received 19.31" of rain during the month of August (which is an all-time record). Sorry Texas... I wish we could share some of this with you. Thankfully we did not lose electricity at our home; could that be because I bought a portable generator last week as insurance??? Many of our neighbors were not as lucky as I can hear there generators humming away....

globalgadabout is correct. Has the Philadelphia Inquirer seen these photos? I lived in Philly as a boy. Then we moved to California. We only worry about earthquakes. Wait you occasionally get them there too!

Mother Nature strikes again. If only she would share a little of that rain with Texas. My sister-in-law in N.J. has been without power for a week, but fortunately has a generator to get by until power us re-established. Good shots of this flooded area.

She did hit over here in the Montreal area, but not as hard. She had started to calm down: only really strong winds and lots of rain, with the fall of some big trees. Thank you for the photodocumentation.V.
