Verona (Veneto)

Verona is much more than Shakespeare's creations, Romeo and Juliet. The city's grand Roman arena is used to this day for operatic performances, and across the River Adige lies one of Italy's finest medieval churches, the basilica named for the saintly African missionary, San Zeno, who first converted the population to Christianity.
