Hanseatic city of Lübeck

Lübeck (or Luebeck) is an ancient seaport on the Baltic (in German: Ostsee), a red-brick medieval city encircled by a moat and protected by fortified gates and walls. Lübeck still asserts its ancient title of Hanseatic City, although the once-formidable trading cartel that was the Hanseatic League fell from grace centuries ago.
