Backpacking through Indonesia in 1975-76

A few scans from the much-fingered original Kodachromes of my first visit to Indonesia, arriving at Medan, North Sumatra, in time to spend Christmas and New Year on Samosir Island, Lake Toba, then out to Nias Island, off the west coast of Sumatra, before returning to Sibolga, West Sumatra, then travelling south through Java to Bali.

I would very much like to see Ken's photos of Samosir 1975 if you have them. In Feb.1975 I stayed in the longhouse of the Christian Minister at Tomok, it was one of the few that still had a grass roof instead if tin. After travelling to Banda Aceh with an Australian girl who spoke bahasa Indonesia and Batak, I retutned to Tomok and stayed at Mongoloi's.

I was in Tomok from early December '74 through February '75 staying at Mongoloi's house, upstairs from his family. I have some pretty good shots if you have an email address and would like to see them.
