Mrs Macquarie's Chair on Sydney Harbour, NSW

Mrs Macquarie's Chair is an exposed sandstone rock cut into the shape of a bench, on a peninsula in Sydney Harbour below the Royal Botanic Garden. Convicts carved it by hand in 1810 for Elizabeth, wife of the colony's first Governor, Lachlan Macquarie.
