I remember this station well. As a youngster we would meet my grandfather coming from Peoria. They had the worst tasting water at the water bubbler there. My other grandfather worked for the RI about a mile down the line at the "red mill" and my father worked in the coal shutes there also. Later I would travel the RI from Chicago to Bureau to visit home and had the opportunity to take the first run ever on the Jet Rocket in the 50's. Sure wish we had some pix when this place was operational!
