Milan, Illinois

Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Depot at Milan, Illinois,

This Depot once served the need for passenger service in Milan, Illinois on the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific railroad. It now serves the community’s need for Coffee & Espresso as the Whistle Stop Java Shop. Located in the middle of a split in the line, trains still rumble past its location about once daily, at around 11:00am according to owners Steven & Becky Kane. A visit inside the Depot reveals a nicely restored interior, with Rock Island signage and other railroad memorabilia. You can find this Depot in its original location at 400 W. 4th Street. Stop in for a look around and a cup of Joe, if you buy 10 you get the 11th free.
