Chicago, Burlington & Northern Depot at Dubuque, Iowa
I recently was asked the question, Is this depot a new construction from original plans or the original Depot that was remodeled?
I could not tell.
The building looks awfully close to the old photo, but on close inspection I did notice that the brick work and electric service looked modern, on the other hand the woodwork and roofing looked original. Maybe a local resident could comment on this...

The original depot is shown in the b/w photo. At some point the open area between the rwo sections was enclosed. I'm not sure when but we'll before 1950. The section at the far left was a garage for the bus which took passengers from Dbq, IA over the bridge to East Dbq, IL. The central part of the building was the waiting room. The right section was the freight office. An area between the freight office and the waiting room had the ticket office. There was a large freight warehouse towards the river. My father worked in the freight office for 25 yrs. I used to ride the bus over to watch the trains in E Dbq. Also road the switch engine across the river.
This entire structure was demolished and a new similar building was built in the same location. This was done in maybe 2010 or ?

A caption on a web page said it was remodeled in 1945-46. Since I can't include the URL of that page, go to encyclopediadubuque org and search for CB&Q.
